DCHS Art Teacher Mrs. Tia Henson (far left)
March is Youth Art Month! Mrs. Henson loves being able to celebrate the many achievements of her students. Did you know you can go see work by Douglas County students at the Board of Education, the Courthouse and the Cultural Art Center? Mrs. Henson says, "This year I enjoyed meeting some of my students' parents, and grandparents and I got to experience the exhibition with a former student who is now a colleague! We worked so hard to make something beautiful and I hope you get a chance to see it!"

When students are present daily, their grades and reading skills often improve—even among those students who are struggling in school. Students who frequently attend school feel more connected to their community and develop strong social skills and friendships, which are important skills for life. Please help get your scholars to school by 8:20. The teachers and staff have planned engaging lessons to help your child acquire the skills and knowledge they need to excel.
High School hours are 8:20-3:10.
