Douglas County High School offers career and technical education programs. These programs are designed to prepare youth for a broad range of employment and further education. The following is a list of programs being offered at Douglas County High School:

The Criteria for admission into CTAE course is determined by the space available for all students that sign up for an Introductory level course and the amount of space in a student's schedule. All upper level courses must have the correct pre-requisite course completed.

The Career, Technical and Agricultural Education courses "are responsible for career and leadership development of" high school students. "The CTAE department works with the nine Career, Technical Student Organizations to enrich the curriculum in the CTAE Pathways."

The marketing pathway is an exciting way for students to develop real world skills in communication, entrepreneurship, customer service, digital marketing, product development, and selling
 

The pathway consists of three courses including:

  • Introduction to Marketing & Business

  • Promotion & Digital Marketing

  • Marketing Communications

Students are encouraged to participate in working in our real world business, The Tiger Shack, which sells snacks, drinks, school supplies and spirit items.  



Students are also encouraged to participate in DECA, the Marketing & Entrepreneurship club,  in order to further develop their business, public speaking, critical thinking and project management skills

All career and technical education programs follow the district's policies.
