Dual Enrollment Information:
Dual Enrollment is a state-funded program that allows students to enroll in college courses while still in high school. Dual Enrollment grades appear on the high school transcript and on the student’s college transcript – following them throughout their college career.
Please be aware of the following:
Dual enrollment funding for core academic courses and elective CTAE/pathway courses is available to 11th and 12th-grade students at participating institutions. 10th-grade students are eligible to take dual enrollment CTAE/pathway courses at technical colleges. 10th-grade students may only take core classes at a participating postsecondary institution if they meet institutional admissions requirements AND have at least a 1200 SAT or 26 ACT. Students in 9th grade are ineligible for dual enrollment funding.
Dual enrollment funding covers tuition, mandatory fees, and textbooks for participating students.
Dual enrollment funding will pay for up to 30 attempted credit hours (approximately 10 college classes).
Students who withdraw from two (2) Dual Enrollment courses will become ineligible for future dual enrollment funding.
Students who fail or withdraw from a dual enrollment course are not eligible to repeat the course under dual enrollment guidelines.
Students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress as determined by the institution to continue being eligible for dual enrollment funding. SAP typically means that students must maintain a 2.0 GPA in college-level classes and must pass 67% of attempted courses (withdrawals and failures will impact this).
Dual enrollment hours will not count against the combined limits for HOPE Scholarship/Grant hours. Core Academic classes taken through dual enrollment will count in a student’s HOPE GPA.
Students must meet all institutional application deadlines and requirements. (Each institution's deadline will differ)
